Thisissand originated as a website in 2008, created by a group of talented art students as a school project. To their surprise, it garnered significant attention and continued to attract visitors for years. In 2012, Thisissand evolved into an app and remains under the stewardship of its original founder.
Thisissand offers a range of tools for selecting sand colors. The website primarily features the essential Color Palette tool. However, the app introduces additional specialized tools that can be accessed through the Toolkit in-app purchase. While these tools enhance the experience, they are entirely optional. We are grateful for any support you may choose to offer by trying them out!
Color Palette
Use the Color Palette tool to select specific colors from an extensive range of options. Experiment with solid colors or create beautiful variations by choosing multiple hues. Adjust the intensity slider to control the speed of color changes or opt for surprising combinations using the randomize feature.Color Shifter
With Color Shifter, witness subtle or dramatic shifts in sand color through adjustments on the intensity slider. This tool often produces mesmerizing rainbow-like shades. Begin by choosing a color with the Color Palette and then select the Color Shifter tool to set the initial color.Color Picker

While it may take some practice to master simultaneously pointing the camera and drawing, the results are truly unique.
